16. Network Scanner

The Network Scanner allows you to add multiple computers from your network to the Event Log Explorer tree by scanning a specified IP range.

How to scan and add computers:
1. From the main menu, select Tree > Add computers via network scan
2. In the Network Scanner dialog, specify the target IP range and click Start Scan.
(Note: Avoid scanning public networks, as this may trigger security alerts or ISP blocks).
3. Once the scan is complete, you will see a list of discovered computers.
4. Check the box next to each computer you wish to add. You can choose to add them by Computer Name, DNS Name, or IP Address.

Understanding the "Event Log port" Column:
Please ensure that the "Event Log port" column is checkmarked for the computers you want to add. If it is not checked, Event Log Explorer was unable to connect to the remote Event Log service on that machine. In this case, you will not be able to open its event logs until you configure the remote computer (most likely by adjusting Windows Firewall settings) to allow remote event log access.
